In 2017, the French brand Bell & Ross presented the BR 03-92 Horolum. With its strong luminous material, it was intended to be reminiscent of airport runways. Now comes the BR 05 Horolum, a new version of the series based on the sporty yet chic BR 05 collection. The watch likewise offers readability in all situations and is housed in an urban steel case. It also comes with an integrated steel bracelet. As a limited edition, however, only 250 pieces will be produced.
The Case of The BR 05 Horolum
The case is based on the design of the BR 05 collection. It thus features the modern interpretation of the “circle in a square” case, which goes back to the brand’s earlier models. Here, the corners have been rounded to achieve a more elegant design. What remains, however, are the four screws on the bezel. A bead-blasting process also gives the 40 mm case a matt finish that is intended to be reminiscent of the facades of modern buildings. On the back, a sapphire crystal back also allows a view into the the watch.
The Dial is Reminiscent of The Architecture of Big Cities
The dial of the BR 05 Horolum is also made of blasted steel. As a result, it forms a unified whole with the case. It is intended to be reminiscent of urban architecture and ensures a clear design. The hands indicate the time with the help of baton indices set in a flange. However, all bear luminous material of the type C5, one of the most powerful variants. This makes it easy to read the time even at night. Last but not least, there is also a date window at 3 o’clock.
The Movement of The BR 05 Horolum
Inside the BR 05 Horolum is the BR-CAL.321 calibre, which is based on the Sellita SW300-1. It thus offers automatic winding with a maximum power autonomy of 38 hours. However, Bell & Ross designs the rotor like the wheel of a sports car with a circular segment instead of a semi-circular one. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations (4 Hz) and offers hours, minutes, seconds and a date.
Price & Availability of the Bell & Ross BR 05 Horolum
The watch appears on an integrated steel bracelet that has the same structure as the case. A version with a black rubber strap is also available. However, both straps are equipped with a folding clasp. The Bell & Ross BR 05 Horolum is released as a limited edition with a run of 250 pieces. The price is 4,500 euros with a rubber strap and 4,990 euros with a steel strap.
