Tradition And Bold Watchmaking: Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Openface
The Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Openface combines the classic case of the Dress Watch collection with a bold openworked dial. The watch appears in white gold or red gold and offers a full calendar with moon phases. The movement can be seen through the exposed dial, which emphasises the technical feel of the watch. Nevertheless, the watch remains elegant and comes on a matching grey alligator leather strap.
The Case Consists of White Gold or Rose Gold
The Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Openface comes in a 41 mm case made of either 18-carat white or rose gold. Typical of the Traditionelle are the offset round case and lugs as well as the fluted case back. While the time is set with the easy-grip crown, the small push points on the case advance the displays. On the back side, the movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The water resistance of the watch is a Dress Watch typical 3 bar or 30 metres.
The Dial of The Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Openface Reveals The Mechanics
The dial has three parts namely a slate-grey guilloché upper part, an opaline flange and a sapphire crystal with gold indices. The gear train is presented in the centre and thus shapes the technical character of the watch. The main time is indicated by two Dauphine hands. However, the watchmakers have dispensed with a seconds display.
Around the dial of the Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Openface, a blackened hand with a white crescent moon displays the date. Then, in the centre, the days of the week and months are displayed on two transparent discs. Finally, at 6 o’clock is the precision moon phase with a realistic depiction of Earth’s satellite.
The Exposed Movement of The Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Openface
From both sides of the watch, the calibre 2460 QCL/2 with its 312 individual parts reveals itself. In addition to the full calendar, the movement offers automatic winding and a power reserve of 40 hours. The rotor consists of 22-carat gold and bears the brand’s cross. Meanwhile, the balance beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations (4 hertz) and features a stop-seconds mechanism. The moon phase display only needs correction once every 122 years.
The anthracite grey movement of the Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Openface bears Geneva stripes. The main plate has a circular grained surface. In addition, the watchmakers bevel the edges. The high quality of the watch is also indicated by the fact that it has been awarded the strict Hallmark of Geneva. To receive this certificate, the watch must fulfil several criteria. Among other things, the production, assembly and regulation of the watch must take place exclusively in the canton of Geneva.
