Hublot Big Bang Integral Tourbillon Cathedral Minute Repeater Ceramic: A World First
The Hublot Big Bang Integral Tourbillon Cathedral Minute Repeater Ceramic combines a ceramic case with a minute repeater for the first time. Until now, it has not been possible to accommodate the complication in a case made of the extremely hard material. This was because water resistance could not be guaranteed due to the movable trigger piece. Now, however, Hublot is presenting counter evidence and is equipping the innovation with a tourbillon at the same time. The special edition is available in black or white and is limited to 18 pieces. Hublot is dedicating the model to watch lovers in Japan and will only sell it there.
The Case is Entirely of Ceramic
The Hublot Big Bang Integral Tourbillon Cathedral Minute Repeater Ceramic has a case consisting entirely of ceramic. It appears in either white or black. The latter version is also the first Big Bang Integral Ceramic in black. Both watches measure 43 mm in diameter with a height of 14.15 mm. While the rubberised crown is on one side, the other side has a slide that triggers the minute repeater. The water resistance is 30 metres.
The Front Showcases The Mechanics
The dial comprises a sapphire crystal with applied indices. The main hands indicate the time from the centre. Like the indices, they are luminescent. Otherwise, the front reveals the mechanics and the tourbillon, which makes its rounds at 6 o’clock.
The Movement With Minute Repeater And Tourbillon
The calibre MHUB8001.H1.RH not only integrates a minute repeater, but also a tourbillon. The movement consists of 319 parts and offers a power reserve of 80 hours, which the wearer supplies by hand. Meanwhile, the manufacture implements the minute repeater with “cathedral” gong springs, which are longer than ordinary springs and thus produce a fuller sound with more resonance.
Price & Availability of The Hublot Big Bang Integral Tourbillon Cathedral Minute Repeater Ceramic
The two variants are each limited to 18 pieces and are available exclusively in Japan. The price is 291,000 euros.
