Oris is heading back to its roots – but still keeping things innovative. The new Divers Sixty-Five 12H Calibre 400 looks back upon from over half a century of the manufacture’s watch design and movement creation. As such, it carries not only the spirit and form of the first Oris dive watch, introduced in 1965, but also the new standard: the Oris Calibre 400 automatic movement.
A stainless steel case
The Divers Sixty-Five 12H Calibre 400 features a 40 mm multi-piece stainless steel case. It is the first Divers Sixty-Five to integrate a double-sided 12-hour rotating bezel that serves as a second time zone.
A screw-down stainless-steel crown adorns the case of the watch, which is water-resistant up to 10 bar (100 m). Therefore, the timepiece is technically a sports watch rather than a diver’s watch, given that it does not meet the minimum requirements of a diver’s watch (at least 20 bar water resistance). Thus, the Divers Sixty-Five 12H Calibre 400only looks like a diver’s watch. A screw-down sapphire crystal caseback allows for optimal viewing of the watch’s inner workings.
The dial of the Divers Sixty-Five 12H Calibre 400
The black dial has a white printed minute track and white baton hour markers. It also features white hands and a date function in black, which lies at 6 o’clock – just like on the previous Divers-Sixty-Five models. The hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova. As a result, the dial is readable 24/7.
The Oris Calibre 400 automatic movement
Oris equips the Divers Sixty-Five 12H with its own Calibre 400. The automatic movement has a five-day power reserve and a good level of robustness. It beats at a frequency of 4 Hz. With over 30 anti-magnetic components, this movement exceeds the ISO 764 standard for magnetic protection, thus offering high protection against everyday risks.
The confidence Oris has in the quality and continuity of the Divers Sixty-Five 12H Calibre 400 is easy to see. After all, its recommended maintenance interval for the watch is 10 years. What’s more, Oris covers every in-house watch equipped with the Calibre 400 with a ten-year warranty once it is registered on MyOris.
Price and availability
The choice between a black leather strap with stainless steel buckle and a multi-piece stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp complete the features of the Divers Sixty-Five 12H Calibre 400. The watch is available now. The price for the option with leather strap is 3,100 euros, or 3,300 euros with the steel bracelet.
