Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin (Update W&W 2020)
For globe trotters and lovers of travelling, Vacheron Constantin extended its ‘Overseas Collection’ on the Geneva watch fair SIHH in January 2019. The new ultra-thin model with perpetual calendar has been introduced with two different dials. The first version has a blue dial and a blue strap (Ref. 4300V/000R-B509), the second version has a bracelet made of pink gold and a silver coloured dial (Ref. 4300V/120R-B064). The case of both watches is made of pink gold. For the novelty presentation at Watches & Wonders 2020, Vacheron Constantin has now added a pink-gold bracelet to the blue dial version (Ref. 4300V/120R-B509), which up until now was only available with a blue leather or rubber strap.
The new watches of the ‘Overseas Collection’ are characterized by their six-sided bezel – evokes Vacheron Constantin’s Maltese Cross emblem – and its transluscent lacquered dial with facetted and luminescent gold hands and hour-markers. The manufacture movements are designed to facilitate everyday use. Additionally, the watches’ straps can be interchanged without using a tool.
The new Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin is available with a case made of 18K 5N pink gold and a diameter of 41,5 mm. At the heart of the model is the 4.05 mm-high calibre 1120 QP, an ultra-thin mechanical self-winding movement with perpetual calendar and moon-phase functions.
The mechanism, which has 276 components, is able to cope with calendar irregularities in a way that means further adjustments are not required until the year 2100. The movement, beating at a frequency of 2.75 Hz, has a 40-hour power reserve and drives the hours, minutes, and perpetual calendar – day of the week, date, month and leap year on a 48-hour counter – as well as the moon-phase display.

The dial is, depending on the model, either silver-toned or blue lacquered. The luminiscent hands and indices, which are also made of 18K gold, are clearly visible. The 22K gold oscillating weight, adorned with a wind rose, can be seen through the sapphire crystal caseback. Both models can now be worn on a blue leather or rubber strap, or on a 5N pink gold bracelet. Both models are water-resistant to a depth of 50 m.
