For more than 20 years this line is part of the classics of the Geneva manufacture. Now Jaeger-LeCoultre introduces three further models of the ‘Master Ultra Thin Collection’ on the watch fair SIHH 2019. The new models are available with different special complications: a moon phases, tourbillon or perpetual calendar. The dial of these limited versions are made of blue enamel and the case is made of white gold.
The detailed craftmanship is a significant feature of Jaeger-LeCoultre since its founding in 1833 and is improved by the brand continuously. Therefore the hand enameling, which particularly requires patience and thoroughness, was resumed by the manufacture in 1996 and as well plays an important role in the design of the new Master Ultra Thin Enamel models.
The Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Enamel (Ref. Q13234E1) was redesigned and has a new tourbillon and new-look date counter. Due to the arrangement of the complications the look of the watch is quite symmetrical. In designing the watch Jaeger-LeCoultre laid the focus on the love for detail: The sunray-effect finishes, as on the light gold oscillating weight, as well as the tourbillon, fittingly placed in an aperture at six o’clock, complete the watch’s appearance. The caliber Jaeger-LeCoultre 987 has been reconceived both technically and aesthetically and is situated in the particular thin case.
The hand-guilloché dial has 60 indices and is made of blue enamel. Very special to this model are the hour-markers, which have been redesigned especially for this limited edition. The case is made of white gold and has a diameter of 40 mm. This model is limited to 50 pieces.
Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Enamel
The model Master Ultra Thin Perpetual (Ref. Q13035E1)stands out with its four internal apertures and a blue enamel guilloché motif. It is driven by the typical Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 868, which has been revised for this model as well.
The special complication of the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual is the perpetual calender. Its new display (day at 3 o’clock, date at 9 o’clock, month and year at 12 o’clock) simultaneously indicates the moon in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres. In a polished starry sky at 6 o’clock the moon phase, which sets itself in motion due to its different phases, waxing or waning, is housed in a disk. The design of the moon phase has as well been revised: Especially the engraved counter immediately attracts the eye.

As another feature the Métiers Rares, the artisans of the brand, have refined and lengthened the hour-markers of the watch. Their stretched-out silhouette fits with the guilloché blue enamel dial and emphasizes the watch’s ergonomic design. The strap is made of blue alligator leather, which blends in with the shining blue colour of the enamel dial. This model is limited to 100 watches.
Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel
The Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel (Ref. Q13635E1) is equipped with a new moon phase, that as well has been redesigned. When the moon is full, its round and polished white disk comes to rest on an stellar background.
The blue enamel dial of this model is also hand-guillochéd and characterized by the new hour-markes, the new polished moon and the new engraved counters. Inside the only 10.04 mm thin case made of white gold the automatic mechanical Caliber Jaeger-LeCoultre 925 runs with a 70-hour power reserve. The intense blue colour of the dial highlights the geometrical motifs and the relief effect characteristic of guillochage, which is a distinctive feature of the brand for already 186 years now.
In this model the design of the hour-markers has also been revised, there are longer and now split into two at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. In an aperture at 6 o’clock, the counter, that houses the polished moon phase, has been engraved, bringing out the numerals depicting the date. The new Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel is available in a limited number of 100 pieces.
