New in 38 mm: Hublot Big Bang Integrated Time Only
The iconic Big Bang from Hublot, with its bold design and integrated bracelet, is appearing for the first time as a 38 mm version at this year’s Watches & Wonders 2024. Previously, there were smaller Big Bang models in 33, 38 and 39 mm, but only with diamonds and therefore more aimed at Hublot’s female following. The Big Bang Integrated Time Only, on the other hand, was previously only available in 40 mm. With six new Big Bang Integrated Time Only models in 38 mm, Hublot is going back to the original from 1980.
Case
The case is also very much in the style of the Big Bang, with the two ‘ears’ – as Hublot calls them – on the right and left of the case, the bezel with the six H-shaped functional screws, and the rubber-covered crown. With a case diameter of 38 mm (height 9.4 mm), it is sure to appeal to both men and women. Two models have a satin-finished titanium case and bracelet, two versions in King Gold, Hublot’s own gold alloy, and two versions in ceramic, one of which is in ‘Black Magic’, making it the first Big BangBlack Magic with a diameter of 38 mm.
Dial
The dial of the new Big Bang Integrated Time Only models is made of soft, ferromagnetic steel and thus protects the movement from magnetic fields, which has a positive effect on chronometric precision. Depending on the version, the dials appear in black or blue and are polished (black) or satin-finished with a sunburst finish (blue). Large skeletonised hour and minute hands indicate the time. There is a date display at 3 o’clock.
Movement of the new Big Bang Integrated Time Only
The six new Big Bang Integrated Time Only models are powered by the MHUB 1115 calibre, an automatic movement with a 48-hour power reserve. The oscillating weight is made of tungsten and is perforated.
Price and strap
The new Big Bang Integrated Time Only watches come on matching bracelets in titanium, King Gold or ceramic. The two titanium versions cost 13,600 euros each, the two King Gold timepieces 49,100 euros, and the two ceramic watches 15,900 euros each.
