Ulysse Nardin Freak One Navy Blue: Eye-catching Design with Innovative Technology
Ulysse Nardin presents the Freak One Navy Blue, a new model in this unconventional collection. The watch features a striking design and innovative technology. Let’s take a closer look at what this timepiece has to offer.
Case
The case of the Freak One Navy Blue measures 44 mm in diameter and is made of titanium with a satin-polished black Dlc finish. This choice of materials not only ensures durability but also gives the watch an elegant appearance. The bezel is made from Carbonium, a material that Ulysse Nardin introduced in 2019. Carbonium is known for its high strength-to-weight ratio and low environmental impact during production. However, the water resistance of 30 metres is relatively modest for a watch with maritime connections.
Dial
The dial of the Freak One Navy Blue is a prime example of the innovative design that characterises the Freak collection. There are no traditional hands to indicate the time. Instead, the minutes are shown by the tip of the flying carousel which rotates around the dial. The hours are displayed on a blue rotating disc with an engraved sunray pattern. This unusual display is complemented by the oversized silicon oscillator and balance spring, which add an extra dimension to the dial. The escapement wheel and anchor, coated in DiamonSil, ensure additional durability and precision.
Movement
At the heart of the Freak One Navy Blue lies the Calibre UN-240 Manufacture movement. This self-winding movement is equipped with Ulysse Nardin’s Grinder automatic winding system, which is known for its efficiency and reliability. The movement offers a maximum power reserve of 90 hours. Notable features include the patented silicon components and the setting device, which is discreetly integrated into the case back. Together, these elements ensure precise timekeeping and ease of use.
Strap
The Freak One Navy Blue comes with two rubber straps. These straps are made from 30 per cent recycled production waste, reflecting Ulysse Nardin’s commitment to sustainability. Despite their eco-friendly composition, the straps promise durability and comfort on the wrist. A titanium folding clasp ensures a secure fit.
Price and Availability
The Freak One Navy Blue is a limited edition timepiece. As such, it will only be available in select Ulysse Nardin boutiques and authorised retailers worldwide. The price of the watch is 115,000 euros.
