Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro Mike Horn Edition PAM01676
With the new Submersible QuarantaQuattro Mike Horn Edition PAM01676, Panerai is honouring the long-standing collaboration with the explorer Mike Horn. The watch is based on the Submersible QuarantaQuattro and features a 44 mm case, a blue dial, and a rotating bezel with a ceramic insert. The watch is designed for tough conditions and comes with two strap options. It is powered by the automatic P.900 movement and has a water resistance of 300 metres.
Case
The case of the PAM01676 is made of brushed stainless steel and measures 44 mm in diameter. The thickness is about 13 mm. The bezel is unidirectional and features a polished blue ceramic insert with a lumed pearl. The crown is coated in blue rubber and is protected by the trademark crown protecting device. The sapphire crystal on the front is scratch-resistant and provides a clear view of the dial. The screwed solid steel caseback is engraved with Mike Horn’s signature. The watch is water-resistant up to 30 bar, which is approximately 300 metres. Panerai also indicates that the watch is tested to a pressure 25% greater than the guaranteed water resistance value.
Dial
The dial of the Mike Horn Edition comes in a blue, vertically brushed colour. The applied hour markers and hands are filled with white Super-LumiNova X1, ensuring good readability in low-light conditions. The hour markers are wider by 20% in diameter than on a normal Submersible QuarantaQuattro, providing enhanced visibility. There are Arabic numerals at 3, 6, and 12 o’clock. The small seconds hand is bright yellow, adding a splash of colour to the dial. The logo and depth rating are also in yellow. Notably, the date window, usually found at 3 o’clock, has been removed.
Movement
The PAM01676 is powered by the automatic P.900 movement. This movement measures 12½ lignes (28 mm) in diameter and is only 4.2 mm thick. It has a bidirectional winding system and a power reserve of 72 hours. The balance wheel oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The movement is equipped with an Incabloc anti-shock device and a stop-seconds function. The closed caseback is engraved with Mike Horn’s signature.
Strap
The watch comes with two strap options. The first is a blue rubber strap with a trapezoidal brushed steel pin buckle. The second is a blue bi-material strap. Both straps are designed for durability and comfort.
