W&W 2025: Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Verzasca – Precision and Innovation in Timekeeping
In 2022, Parmigiani Fleurier introduced the Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante, a GMT watch featuring a rattrapante mechanism that allows the local time to be adjusted with a single press. Now, to mark Watches and Wonders 2025, the brand is launching a new version: the Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Verzasca. Its Verzasca Green dial is inspired by the waters of the Verzasca Valley, while the functionality of the original model remains unchanged.
Case
The 40 mm case showcases a blend of polished and satin-finished steel. Measuring 10.70 mm in height and featuring a sapphire crystal caseback, it offers a captivating view of the watch’s intricate movement. Additionally, with a water resistance of up to 60 metres (6 bar), the watch is designed for everyday reliability, even in varying conditions.
Elegant Verzasca Green Dial
The dial, presented in a distinctive Verzasca Green hue, draws inspiration from the crystal-clear waters of the Val Verzasca. Its finely hand-guilloché surface, adorned with the iconic ‘Grain d’Orge’ pattern, captures and reflects light with the utmost precision. A knurled bezel crafted from 950 platinum frames the dial, further emphasising the exceptional craftsmanship of Parmigiani Fleurier.
Calibre PF051 – The Beating Heart of the Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Verzasca
The in-house automatic Calibre PF051 is composed of over 215 individual components. Equipped with a 22-carat rose gold micro-rotor and embellished with Parmigiani’s signature guilloché motif, it delivers a 48-hour power reserve at a 3 Hz frequency (21,600 vibrations per hour). A standout feature is the rattrapante mechanism, which allows effortless switching between local and reference time at the push of a button, all while preserving the dial’s minimalist elegance.
Bracelet
Completing the design of the Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Verzasca is a polished and satin-finished steel bracelet, seamlessly integrated into the case. It ensures a secure and comfortable fit while reinforcing the watch’s timeless and sophisticated aesthetic.
