Panerai expands the Luminor Marina collection with a new interpretation made of DMLS titanium and Carbotech: Luminor Marina DMLS 44 mm (PAM01662).
The light and very resilient case is made of titanium which is manufactured by the technology known as ‘Direct Metal Laser Sintering’ (DMLS). This process of futuristic 3D printing involves the sedimentation of titanium powder, sintered layer by layer by a high-powered optical fibre laser, 30 microns (0,03 mm) at a time.
The bezel, crown and lever of the Safety Lock crown protection bridge are made of Carbotech, a carbon composite developed by the Panerai Laboratorio di Idee.
The new PAM01662 runs with calibre P.9010 that has been entirely conceived and developed by the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel. The 6 mm thin automatic movement is fitted with the function for quickly setting the time, which at the same time modifies the date. The movement has a power reserve of 72 hours, provided by its twin spring barrels.
The new Luminor Marina DMLS 44 mm is water resistant to 30 bar (300 m) and is worn on a black Panerai Sportech strap with anthracite stitching.
A second rubber strap in black is also supplied as well as a dedicated tool for changing. Price: 15,000 euros.
