Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph: Two New Versions With Ceramic, Titanium and Rose Gold
The two new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph are notable for their exciting material combinations and first-class mechanics. One of them has a black ceramic case with a blue bezel and blue pushers. The second model is in rose gold and titanium instead. Inside the watches is the brand’s latest chronograph with flyback function.
Materials
The two new interpretations of the Offshore are available in ceramic or rose gold. The blue ceramic bezel on the former model provides a striking contrast. The crown and pushers are also in this colour. The rose gold case has a titanium bezel instead. The crown and push-buttons in black ceramic provide the necessary contrast. Both cases measure 43 mm in diameter and 14.4 mm in height. In favour of ergonomics, the watches have wider polished bevelled edges. The domed sapphire crystal merges seamlessly into the bezel, which is also domed. Meanwhile, the sapphire back reveals the mechanics. The water resistance is 100 metres.
Dials
The ceramic model features a smoky blue “Méga Tapisserie” dial, the dark colour of which fades into black on the periphery. There are also three black counters. The time is indicated by white gold hands. Both the hands and the baton indices are luminous. The appliquéd AP logo, also made of white gold, provides the finishing touch. The version in the rose gold case has a grey dial with rose gold elements instead. Both Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph models have a date window at the 4.30 o’clock position.
The Movement Inside The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph
The latest in-house mechanics power the watches. The calibre 4401 with integrated chronograph offers flyback, column wheel switching and a vertical clutch. There are also soft-touch push-buttons, which have been designed to feel pleasantly soft when pressed. The movement offers automatic winding and a power reserve of 70 hours. The 381 individual parts are finished to Haute Horlogerie standards. These decorations include Côtes de Genève, circular graining, sunray brushing, circular satin and polished chamfers.
Strap, Price, Availability
The watches offer a system for quickly changing the straps. The wearer detaches the band by pushing the buttons at the lugs. In the box, the watches come on either a blue or grey calfskin strap with a textile effect. A titanium or rose gold pin buckle holds them on the wrist. The two new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph are available now. The price of each is 58,900 euros.
