Patek Philippe is introducing four new models from the Nautilus collection at Watches & Wonders 2021. The new Nautilus 5711/1A-014, with its olive green dial, stands out in particular, and replaces the discontinued Nautilus 5711/1A with a blue dial.
In addition, the manufacture is also launching a variation of this new 5711/1A-014 with a diamond-set bezel. Elsewhere, Patek Philippe is introducing the Travel Time Chronograph 5990/1R-001 in a rose-gold case with a blue dial. Finally, the Genevese horology house is introducing a Ladies’ Nautilus in rose-gold, set with 2553 diamonds.
Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1A-014 with olive green dial
The sunburst finish complements the colouring and picks up on the light reflections on the steel case. The olive green also contrasts with the luminescent hands and indices in white gold. For the case, Patek Philippe relies on the familiar design blueprint and, as usual, the automatic calibre 26-330 S C ticks inside. Last but not least, the water resistance of up to 120 m remains the same. According to the horological house, the new 5711/1A-014 will only be produced for one year – hence we are talking about a limited production, but not limited edition.
Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1300A-001 with baguette diamonds
The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1300A-00 combines a steel case with a diamond-set bezel. In order for the 32 baguette diamonds (~3.6 carats) to fit into the rounded bezel, each stone is cut slightly trapezoidal, instead of rectangular. Similarly to the model above, powering this Nautilus is the 26-330 S C calibre.
Patek Philippe Travel Time Chronograph 5990/1R-001 in Rose Gold
The Patek Philippe Travel Time Chronograph 5990/1R-001 complements the Nautilus 5990/1, with the latter first appearing in stainless-steel back in 2014. The new watch appears in a rose-gold case with a blue dial. Inside the 5990/1R-001 ticks the calibre CH 28-520 C FUS with automatic winding. It combines a flyback chronograph with a travel time function and a date at 12 o’clock. The watch also features two day/night displays with the headings “LOCAL” and “HOME”. An integrated rose-gold bracelet secures the watch to the wrist with a folding clasp.
Patek Philippe Nautilus High Jewellery 7118/1450R-001
With the Patek Philippe Nautilus Haute Joaillerie 7118/1450R-001, the Swiss company is expanding its range of ladies’ models. The new model is made of rose gold and measures 35.2 mm in diameter. Patek Philippe sets the watch with 2553 brilliant-cut diamonds (~12.69 carats).
Another special feature is the snowflake setting on the case, bezel and bracelet, in which the watch is set with diamonds without a grid. The utmost care is taken to bring the stones as close together as possible. This technique makes each watch unique. Finally, the manufacture equips the model with the calibre 324 S with automatic winding.

At this years SIHH watch-fair Vacheron Constantin introduced a new model of their popular Overseas collection and now also offers a rather practical watch for traveller’s that can be worn everyday. Up until now Vacheron Constantin fans who wanted to have a second time zone had to refer to the Overseas Worldtime, which is due…
When Axel Leuenberger and his three companions decided to launch a new watchmaking company, they had a fairly clear idea of their goal: to create timepieces that were ‘beyond products’. Leuenberger, the CEO of Vanguart watches founded in 2017, is rather laidback when describing his integral role at the company: ‘I jump between various roles;…
With the launch of the new TAG Heuer Carrera Astronomer in three distinct versions, TAG Heuer presents a contemporary reinterpretation of the moon phase complication. Yet this bold step inevitably raises the question of whether the most classically poetic of all complications can truly harmonise with a brand so deeply rooted in the world of…
The Greek philosopher Heraclitus is credited with the observation that nothing is as constant as change. This thought resonates when looking at the new products presented by Patek Philippe. Because what Thierry Stern is presenting at Watches & Wonders is three hundred percent in the Patek Philippe tradition, and at the same time demonstrates a…
The perpetual calendar: a historic mechanism that dates back as early as 1695, first appearing within a clock. But it was the renowned watchmaker Thomas Mudge who first put it onto the wristwatch map, creating a perpetual calendar movement for his No. 525 watch in 1762. Over a century later, the then-‘LeCoultre & Cie’ developed its first…
Vacheron Constantin stages eternity – and a tourbillon – for its anniversary For 270 years, Vacheron Constantin has been striving to capture time with measuring instruments that are as technically as they are aesthetically sophisticated. This is reflected in the anniversary creations such as the three models of the Traditionnelle Open Face Anniversary Edition. Of course, the…
Retailer Bucherer is kicking off 2025 with the introduction of three special timepieces created in collaboration with watch manufactures Ulysse Nardin, Girard-Perregaux and Chopard. Each watch presents its own unique concept. The Ulysse Nardin Freak X Enamel combines its extraordinary movement construction with a deep green dial. Meanwhile, Girard-Perregaux offers up a tourbillon in a…
Yellow-gold watches have long been seen as the ultimate symbols of success. Unmistakably crafted from precious metal, such watches are not destined for the subtle amongst us. Rather, these watches make sure that all those around them are well aware that its wearer is affluent enough to attain such a sumptuous timepiece. With all due…
A look at one's own past is part of the marketing basics of pretty much every watch brand. Hardly any other manufacturer can look at a history like Breguet. During his lifetime, Abraham Louis Breguet was probably the most important watchmaker of his time, and he is still the most famous today. However, the newly…
Being uncomplicated is not necessarily a top priority for Vacheron Constantin. Not even 270 years after it was founded. And so the company likes to create extremely difficult superlatives in the art of watchmaking. While last year it was the world's most complicated pocket watch with no fewer than 63 complications, at this year's Watches…
With the SP One, MB&F ventures into uncharted territory. Instead of their usual futuristic and radical forms, the manufacture's latest creation prioritises classical elegance for the very first time. This timepiece not only heralds the launch of a new model line called Special Projects, but also begs the question of what "special" truly means for…
For over 20 years, the collection ‘Historique’ by Vacheron Constantin is regularly extended by historically relevant watches of the Maison, models like the Cornes de Vache from 1955, the American from 1921 or the Fine from 1955. Since a crucial horological passion of founder Jean-Marc Vacheron has been in the technical making of calendar watches, it was about time in 2017…
