Vacheron Constantin Patrimony perpetual calendar ultra-thin
The Swiss watch brand Vacheron Constantin launches a new model expanding the ‘Patrimony Collection’ and completing its midnight blue timepieces introduced on this year’s watch fair SIHH in Geneva. The contemporary style and the pure lines are kept up with the new Patrimony perpetual calendar ultra-thin. Other than that, the calendar function is run by an ultra-thin self-winding movement, that also runs inside the new Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-thin (Ref. 43175/000R-B519).

The 1120 QP calibre developed and crafted by Vacheron Constantin drives the indications of the hours, minutes, moon phase at 6 o’clock. As well the model is equipped with a perpetual calendar with an indication of the day at 9 o’clock, the date at 3 o’clock and the month on a 48-month counter at 12 o’clock. The perpetual calendar does not require any corrections until the 1st of March 2100, because – different to regular watches – it considerates of the different length of each month with either 28, 3 or 31 days, as well as the leap-year cycle. The moon phase indication of the Patrimony Perpetual Calendar Ultra-thin is adorned in champlevé enamel, which is special due to its colour only revealed after firing at a temperature of 1000°C.

For combining the complication of the perpetual calendar with the ultra-thin calibre with a height of only 4.05 mm special miniaturisation was required, because the movement must be mechanically adjusted to deal with calendar irregularities. In total the calibre 1120 QP compirises 276 individual pieces. The watch’s caseback is made of transparent sapphire crystal and reveals the openwork Maltese cross-shaped oscillating weight. With a rate of 2.75 Hz (19,800 vibrations per hour) a high precision of the movement as well as its 40-hour power reserve are ensured.
The sunburst satin-finished dial of the new model is held in a blue shade, wich has been especially created for this line. The watch’s case is made of rose gold. The alligator leather strap, which back is lined with the same leather, is equipped with a folding clasp and held in dark blue as well.
