Rado
Rado was founded in Lengnau, Switzerland, in 1917. In the 1960s, the brand became known for its pioneering use of innovative materials. The brand gained particular recognition for its scratch-resistant, high-tech ceramic watch cases, coining the term ‘Master of Materials’ in the process. Now part of the Swatch Group, Rado is widely regarded as a design-driven brand that combines technology and material innovation. Notable collections include the 1962 DiaStar, the world's first scratch-resistant watch made from hard metal; the Ceramica, which is defined by its extensive use of high-tech ceramic; and the True Square, which combines modern geometry with the lightness of ceramic. Another noteworthy collection is the revived Anatom, whose cylindrical sapphire crystal seamlessly transitions into a ceramic bracelet to create a coherent case-bracelet architecture. Launched in 1962, the Captain Cook remains another cornerstone of the brand as Rado’s first dive watch. Rado is synonymous with material innovation, avant-garde design, and exceptional everyday wearability.
