Panerai presents a new model PAM01036 with dual time zone function that is strongly inspired by the Challenger of Record of the 36th America’s Cup. It expresses the affinity between Panerai and the Team that first launched the challenge to the Defender of the 36th America’s Cup, the final act of which is expected in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2021.

The new Luminor Luna Rossa GMT 44 mm incorporates modern materials that also the Luna Rossa Team like to rely on – like titanium, a metal with hypoallergenic properties, lightness and corrosion resistance. With the addition of special carbon-based DLC coating the metal has an increased degree of wear resistance.

The dial is made of a thin layer of the technical fabric from the sailing equipment of the AC75 monohull of Luna Rossa, with a personalized inscription on the dial. The Caliber P.9010/GMT, designed and developed entirely by the Panerai Manufacture, is powered by two barrels that store sufficient energy for a three-day power reserve (72 hours).

A rapid time adjustment is connected to the modification of the date. The GMT function helps to synchronize with the time zone of the Luna Rossa as it is approaching to the 36th America’s Cup.

The new Luminor Luna Rossa GMT 44 mm is worn on a “Ponte Vecchio” calfskin strap in black with white stitching. An additional black rubber strap is included, along with a box wrapped in technical sail fabric. A certificate attests the authenticity of the technical material from Luna Rossa. Price: 10,900 euros.
