Panerai is introducing a new watch: the Luminor Marina Specchio Blu 44 mm – PAM01316. It comes with a newly developed steel bracelet which picks up on the characteristics of the Luminor case. In addition, the model features the Panerai-typical “sandwich” construction, as well as the brand’s patented crown protection bridge.
The Panerai Luminor Marina Specchio Blu is housed in a 44 mm x 15.45 mm cushion-shaped case made of satin-finished 316L steel. Likewise, the recognisable Panerai crown protection bridge is made of the same material, contrasting with the polished steel bezel. The watch features a dodecagonal screw-down caseback, while sapphire crystal protects the dial.
Meanwhile, the Panerai Luminor Marina Specchio Blu44mm‘s blue sun-brushed dial indicates the time using green fluorescent hands, and cut-out Arabic numerals and indices; the dial is constructed using Panerai’s “sandwich” construction technique. Finally, small seconds can be read at 9 o’clock, and a date window lies at 3 o’clock.
Notably, the Panerai Luminor Marina Specchio Blu‘s bracelet is a completely new development and was designed by Laboratorio di Idee, a development department that aims to transfer Panerai’s heritage into contemporary products. With this in mind, the bracelet is composed of links that reflect the shape of the brand’s crown protection bridge. It is also equipped with a quick release system and is lighter and stronger than previous versions. The bracelet is operated using a double folding clasp with an engraved “OP” logo.
The caliber P.9010 drives the Panerai Luminor Marina Specchio Blu 44 mm. The movement is fully produced in-house. It consists of 200 components and 31 jewels, yet measures a mere 6 mm thick. The automatic calibre has a power reserve of three days, which is provided by two mainspring barrels. The calibre also offers a quick adjustment for the hour hand as well as the date.
The new Panerai Luminor Marina Specchio Blu 44 mm is water-resistant to approximately 300 m. A tool for changing the wristband is also included upon purchase, and its price is 8,200 euros.
