n celebration of its tenth anniversary, Laurent Ferrier is introducing a new, classical timepiece – the Classic Origin Opaline.

For the first time, the Porsche Design Custom-built Timepieces Programme allows customers to create a wristwatch that perfectly matches their Porsche 911. Based on the Chronotimer Series 1, more than 1.5 million possible combinations can be configured online – from titanium cases to bespoke wheel rotors modelled on the original Porsche 911 Carrera rims.

Jan Becker, CEO of the Porsche Design Group, explains the revolutionary concept behind the Custom-built Timepieces Programme: as the world’s first sequentially manufactured wristwatch, it enables personalisation right down to the movement itself – an approach offered by neither other car manufacturers nor traditional watch brands.
The Porsche Design Custom-Built Timepieces Programme offers the first sequentially-produced wristwatch in the world, with customisation up to the point of the calibre itself. Porsche Design wants to meet the needs of customers who, in addition to their personal dream car, want to purchase a matching chronograph. Jan Becker, CEO of Porsche Design Group, states: ‘No other car manufacturer or watch brand currently offers such an approach. The colours used as well as the leather types and yarns used for the decorative seams of the chronographs come from vehicle production.’
Unique features of the custom-built programme:

The Porsche Design Online Configurator operates much like the proven Porsche vehicle configurator, displaying the personalised Chronotimer Series 1 model in real time. After configuration, customers receive a unique code that enables them to complete their order at a participating Porsche Centre.
Order process in detail:
From order placement to delivery, the process takes between eight and twelve weeks. Alternatively, customers may choose to receive their personalised chronograph at the handover of their new Porsche vehicle.

The basis for the Porsche Design Custom-Built Timepieces programme is the Porsche Design Chronotimer Series 1.
The customer has the choice between a glass-bead-blasted or PVD coated black titanium case. Additionally, four different bezels are available. Furthermore, the hands, the dial colour, colour rings around the flange and the winding rotor of the movement are customisable.
The WERK 01.100 winding rotors mirror the latest Porsche 911 wheel designs. From the classic 911 Carrera wheel with its two-tone Porsche crest to the 911 Carrera Exclusive Design wheel featuring a gold-coloured crest, customers can choose from six distinct rotor types. Finally, the caseback can feature a customised personal engraving.
