Wempe Signature Collection X Norqain: Independence Wild One 42 Signature Collection
Wempe and Norqain are introducing the Independence Wild One 42 Signature Collection, a limited-edition sports watch in vibrant turquoise. Created in collaboration with luxury watch and jewellery retailer as part of their Signature Collection series, this exclusive timepiece combines contemporary design with premium materials. With only 50 pieces available, it appeals equally to fans of the brand and collectors of Wempe’s Signature Collection.
Case
The case of the Independence Wild One 42 Signature Collection, consisting of over 25 components, is crafted using a patented Norteq ‘protection cage’ made of carbon fibre, a rubber shock absorber, and a titanium ring. This innovative combination ensures scratch resistance, corrosion protection, and water resistance up to 200 metres. The carbon composite material, composed of 60 percent natural elements (castor oil), is six times lighter than stainless steel and 3.5 times lighter than titanium, enhancing wearing comfort. These features contribute to the watch’s remarkably lightweight design, weighing only 84 grams, including the strap.
Dial
The dial features a mandala-like relief inspired by the Norqain logo, intricately laser-etched to create a stunning three-dimensional effect. Applied hour markers with luminous material further enhance this depth. The luminous hands and the striking turquoise colour of the dial ensure optimal legibility in all lighting conditions. The imprint ‘One of 50 Wempe Signature Collection’ on the open sapphire crystal glass caseback indicates the limitation.
Movement
At the heart of the Independence Wild One 42 Signature Collection beats the Norqain automatic calibre NN20/1. Developed in partnership with renowned movement manufacturer Kenissi, this movement boasts a 70-hour power reserve. It is also certified as a Swiss COSC chronometer, guaranteeing exceptional precision.
Strap
The watch comes with a durable rubber strap in the same vibrant turquoise as the case, offering both resilience and comfort. A pin buckle ensures a secure fit on the wrist.
Price & availability
The Wempe Signature Collection x Norqain Independence Wild One 42 Signature Collection is limited to just 50 pieces and will be available from November 19, 2024, in all Wempe boutiques authorised to sell Norqain watches, as well as in the Wempe online store. Priced at 4,950 euros, this exceptional timepiece is a must-have for discerning enthusiasts.
