Roger Dubuis Boutique in Geneva
Swisswatches is launching its first ‘Boutique Travel Guide’ for its watch community. In this section, we want to showcase the many watch boutiques that are worth visiting, but also immerse ourselves in their vibrant neighbourhoods. What does the city have to offer? Where can you find the best drinks, a particularly good restaurant, or perhaps an insider tip? A travel guide for watch lovers who want to know what else they can experience in the city around their boutique visit.
Roger Dubuis watches stand out for their individuality and are far removed from the mainstream. The manufacture, specialising in highly complex mechanical and contemporary luxury timepieces, stylishly reflects this extravagant ambition in its boutique ‘Le Lounge’ in Geneva.
Roger Dubuis refers to these venues as concept stores, which have already opened in various locations worldwide. They are far more than mere points of sale, having been conceived as spaces for meeting, exchange, discovery and wonder.
The opening of ‘Le Lounge’ at the headquarters of the brand, founded in 1995, in Geneva took place in its 30th anniversary year. ‘Opening the Lounge during our anniversary year is an exceptional milestone,’ says David Chaumet, CEO of Roger Dubuis. ‘For 30 years, Geneva has been our home and, like few other places, reflects the tradition, prestige and history of Swiss watchmaking. Our boutique is dedicated to this spirit — and at the same time serves as a stage for our own creative DNA and the passion we share with friends around the world.’
‘Le Lounge’ – A focal point for lovers of creative watchmaking
Upon entering the 100-square-metre boutique, visitors are greeted by the Gravity Window. This ‘magical’ display case makes it appear as though the watches are floating freely, allowing them to be viewed from every angle – a fitting expression of Roger Dubuis’ innovative direction and distinctive approach.
Explorers will also find plenty to admire in the wall design. Made of wood and adorned with illuminated squares, it draws inspiration from Place du Molard in Geneva’s Old Town, where ‘Le Lounge’ is located. The square is known for its illuminated paving stones, in which words in various languages appear at night. This poetic play of light is echoed in the wall panels, which reveal terms from the world of Roger Dubuis.
As you continue to explore the boutique, the presentation room offers detailed insights into the manufacture’s timepiece collection, featuring a changing selection of historical models and the latest innovations, such as the Excalibur Biretrograde Calendar and the Knights of the Round Table Enchanter Merlin.
Expert advice is provided by boutique manager Amélie and two sales consultants, offering multilingual service in French, English, Arabic and Chinese.
Current novelties, exclusive special editions and historical insights
‘Le Lounge’ offers the opportunity to experience Roger Dubuis’s iconic watches and special editions at close quarters. These currently include, among others, the Excalibur double tourbillon in cobalt, the Excalibur Monotourbillon in pink gold, and a special edition of the Excalibur Monotourbillon created in collaboration with the renowned tattoo artist Dr. Woo. “Le Lounge” also gives the opportunity to discover several versions of the Excalibur Monobalancier in pink gold and titanium.
Visitors to the Geneva boutique can also enjoy a vivid glimpse into the manufacture’s history. Important objects from the brand’s past are regularly exhibited, including highlights such as the watch worn by founder Roger Dubuis during his studies, as well as some of his watchmaking tools.
‘Le Lounge’ – Roger Dubuis as a holistic experience
Throughout the year, the Geneva boutique of Roger Dubuis repeatedly becomes the setting for exclusive experiences – including those that extend beyond the world of haute horlogerie. These range from privileged access to limited editions and bespoke services to jointly organised partner events and product launches in fields such as motorsport and art.
The wellbeing of guests is always the top priority. Conversations about watchmaking can therefore take place in a relaxed atmosphere at the elegant bar of ‘Le Lounge’, which offers a selection of fine wines from its carefully curated cellar. Among the wines on offer are the favourites of the founder, produced by the renowned winemaker Jean-Pierre Pellegrin.
His working method is defined by the highest precision and craftsmanship, which is why he is often described as the ‘watchmaker among Swiss vintners’ – an accolade that clearly echoes the traditions of Genevan watchmaking as well as the philosophy of Roger Dubuis.
Roger Dubuis – Traditional watchmaking meets expressive Haute Horlogerie
Since its founding in 1995, Roger Dubuis has stood equally for traditional watchmaking and innovatively engineered timepieces. The brand itself talks about the concept of “expressive Haute Horlogerie”.
Joy, freedom and eccentricity are the values associated with these sometimes distinctive watch designs, which the manufacturer celebrated in its anniversary year 2025 with the Excalibur Grande Complication, among other models. The Poinçon de Genève — the Geneva Seal — it also guarantees provenance (built in the canton de Genève) and precision/functionality.

The Ottolenghi restaurant, located in the heart of Geneva’s city centre and overlooking the Rhône, is renowned for its modern Mediterranean cuisine, which is centred around vegetables and boasts bold flavours. There is also a strong focus on fermentation and cooking over an open fire. The concept is inspired by Israeli-British chef Yotam Ottolenghi, one of the most influential figures in contemporary vegetarian and Levantine cuisine. Head chef Maxime Martin brings a Swiss perspective to the menu, emphasising seasonality and sustainability. At the heart of the restaurant is a live fire grill surrounded by natural wood and deep red and soft gold tones.
Also housed within the Mandarin Oriental on the banks of the Rhône, Sachi offers a contemporary take on Japanese cuisine. ‘Sachi’, meaning happiness, blessings and prosperity, is brought to life through the culinary creations of chef Mitsuru Tsukada, also known as ‘Chef Mitsu’. The highly refined dishes delight guests with their exquisite combinations of flavours from modern Japanese cuisine. The interior features Japanese Kumiko woodwork crafted in a traditional boat motif and classic oak latticework (koshi), creating a sense of warmth and intimacy. On sunny days, a bright veranda overlooking the Rhône invites guests to linger and relax.
