Panerai celebrates 100 years of its Florence boutique with the launch of an exclusive watch set – and a journey through time on the wrist.
To mark the 100th anniversary of its historic boutique in Piazza San Giovanni in Florence, Panerai is inviting collectors and enthusiasts to embark on an extraordinary journey to Italy by purchasing the limited edition Radiomir Viaggio Nel Tempo Experience Set, consisting of the PAM01729 and PAM01730. Participation in this exclusive Panerai experience is inextricably linked to the purchase of the watch set; only by purchasing it can you secure a place on the journey, which will take place from 15 to 18 September 2026 and begin in Florence, the birthplace of Panerai. The trip will begin with an invitation to the 100th anniversary celebration and exhibition in Florence, followed by further Panerai experiences.
From Florence, the journey follows in the footsteps of the legendary Italian frogmen, who were specialised combat swimmers in the Italian Navy who carried out secret missions underwater and are closely associated with Panerai’s historic diving watches: the foundations for Panerai’s current image were laid at the mouth of the Serchio River. The brand was significantly influenced by its military history at the meeting points and training areas there. The highlight is an exclusive visit to the Comsubin base in Porto Venere, including a diving experience, followed by a yacht tour along the Ligurian coast.
The Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience PAM01729 combines two historically significant Panerai signatures: a California dial featuring a mix of Roman and Arabic numerals and a 47 mm bronze case. The special bronze alloy is designed so that the ageing process makes each piece visually unique over time. It is precisely this surface, which develops with the wearer’s life, that is the idea behind the Experience.
Inside, the hand-wound P.3000 calibre with a three-day power reserve and a diameter of 16½ lines is at work. The structure is reminiscent of a three-quarter plate: a large and a smaller bridge cover most of the mechanism and are fixed with distinctive screws, which increases stability and shock resistance. Two interconnected spring barrels ensure a more even power delivery. The open titanium case back with sapphire crystal reveals the manufacture calibre. Added to this are blue polished steel hands, a domed plexiglass and beige Super-LumiNova, which glows green in the dark.
The second watch in the set is the Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience PAM01730, which features Panerai Platinumtech, a special alloy containing 95% pure platinum. According to Panerai, thanks to a special treatment process, this alloy is 85% harder than conventional platinum, has a higher scratch resistance, and is also around 33% heavier than 18-carat gold.
For the first time, a black sunray dial with a sandwich construction is used here; the circular polishing technique, carried out by hand, creates a concentric pattern. The “Radiomir Panerai” lettering is engraved tone-on-tone directly into the dial, which has been deliberately made discreet, almost mysterious. The watch is powered by the hand-wound caliber P.3001/10 with skeletonized, finely decorated bridges; the power reserve indicator is located on the case back to preserve the clarity of the dial.
The set will be available from June 2026 in a limited edition of 30 sets and will be delivered in a mahogany presentation box. There will be an application process for the set – allocation will then be made by Panerai. The price of the watch set is EUR 145,000.
