Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Samuel Ross: Daring Collaboration
Hublot is presenting the Big Bang Tourbillon Samuel Ross, the result of a collaboration with the latter brand ambassador. Samuel Ross is an artist and fashion designer, and has incorporated his signature design language into this special model. The watch is characterised by an unconventional shape with a honeycomb structure. It also features the orange colour often used by Samuel Ross.
About The Artist And Fashion Designer Samuel Ross
With the Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Samuel Ross, the Manufacture is presenting the first watch to emerge from its collaboration with Samuel Ross. The artist, filmmaker and fashion designer has been a Hublot brand ambassador since 2020. He graduated from Leicester De Montfort University in 2012 with a degree in graphic design and illustration and has since worked successfully with a wide range of fashion brands and creative institutions. Ross’ style is characterised by stark geometry and urban design. In addition, the colour orange appears again and again in his works. The new watch aims to bring the graphic language to watchmaking and push the boundaries of what is possible.
Case
The watch appears in a 44 mm case made of sand-polished titanium. The height is 13.75 mm. The titanium honeycomb structure that seems to come out of the case at the lugs is particularly remarkable. The hexagon is found again and again in Ross’ works and is a symbol of functionality. To protect the construction, the case is wrapped in orange rubber. In addition, the crown of the Big Bang Tourbillon Samuel Ross also has rubber, which increases operating comfort. The water resistance of the watch is 3 bar or 30 metres.
Dial
The dial of the Big Bang Tourbillon Samuel Ross is a sapphire crystal disc, allowing a view of the movement and the honeycomb structure beneath. Round indices with luminous material lie on top of it. In addition, a flange with minute track winds around the periphery. The time is indicated by two round, openworked main hands that are also luminescent.
This Movement Powers The Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Samuel Ross
Hublot equips the watch with the HUB6035 manufacture movement. This movement is distinguished above all by its construction with winding and tourbillon on a single axis. The open dial allows the wearer to see both the micro-rotor and the tourbillon in action. The power reserve is 72 hours. Elsewhere, the balance operates at a frequency of 3 Hz inside the skeletonised tourbillon. There is also an orange accent here, emphasising the connection to Samuel Ross. The movement sits on a honeycomb structure made of titanium, which is also visible through the case back.
Price & Availability of The Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Samuel Ross
The watch comes on an orange strap that picks up on the honeycomb structure. It also features a folding clasp made of titanium. To mark the release, the artist’s signature colours adorn Hublot’s boutiques around the world. The Big Bang Tourbillon Samuel Ross is a limited edition of 50 pieces. The price is 115,000 euros.
