Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Hybris Mechanica Calibre 362 With Midnight-Blue Dial
Jaeger-LeCoultre presents a new interpretation of the Master Hybris Mechanica Calibre 362. The watch comes in a five-piece limited edition with a deep midnight-blue sunray dial. The watch was first introduced in 2014 and is now being released in a new version to mark the tenth anniversary. The watch is still the thinnest minute repeater in the collection, with a case thickness of just 7.8 mm. The watch is made of 18k white gold and features a self-winding movement with a tourbillon and minute repeater. The new version also includes a new mechanism for activating the minute repeater, which preserves the lines of the case. The watch represents eight separate patents, including six inventions developed specifically for this timepiece. The watch is a testament to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s inventiveness and exceptional watchmaking skill.
Case
The case of the Master Hybris Mechanica Calibre 362 measures 41 mm in diameter and has a thickness of just 7.8 mm. It is made of 18k white gold, chosen for its superior acoustic qualities. The design of the case is inspired by the ultra-thin pocket watches of the early 20th century, particularly the 1907 couteau (knife) pocket watch. The hand-polished bezel, sides, and tapering lugs contrast dramatically with the deep blue sunray dial. The watch is water-resistant up to 3 bar, a rare feature for minute repeaters. This is made possible by a new mechanism for activating the minute repeater, which includes a discreet unlocking button at 8 o’clock and a retractable push-button at 10 o’clock.
Dial
The dial of the Master Hybris Mechanica Calibre 362 is a deep blue sunray that contrasts with the white gold case. The simplicity of the dial indications pays tribute to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s historic pocket watches, with elongated Dauphine hands, hour markers in the form of simple batons, and minute markers as white dots. The sections of the peripheral oscillating weight are delicately snailed, adding an extra touch of elegance. The dial is designed to reveal the movement, with slots around the dial that allow for a view of the peripheral rotor that notably revolves on the dial side of the movement. Overall, the dial combines functionality with aesthetic appeal, reflecting the watch’s haute horlogerie status.
Movement
The Master Hybris Mechanica Calibre 362 is powered by the automatic Calibre 362. This movement is notable for its slim design, measuring just 4.7 mm in thickness. It features a flying balance wheel inside a flying tourbillon, a design that reduces the overall thickness. The larger balance wheel oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph, providing greater stability. The patented S-shaped hairspring, fixed above the balance wheel, is also a result of this rethinking of the regulating organ. The movement has a power reserve of 42 hours and includes a peripheral rotor made of Platinum 950/1000. This rotor encircles the calibre and is mounted on ceramic ball bearings, allowing it to swing freely and with minimal friction. The movement is visible through the transparent sapphire case-back, showcasing the haute horlogerie finishes such as Côtes de Genève and hand-bevelling.
Strap
The Master Hybris Mechanica Calibre 362 comes with a blue alligator leather strap. The strap features small-scale alligator lining, adding to the luxury of the timepiece. It is equipped with a folding clasp, ensuring secure and comfortable wear. The choice of blue for the strap complements the deep blue dial of the watch, creating a harmonious overall appearance.

The Master Hybris Mechanica Calibre 362 is a limited edition of 5 pieces. As such, it is not widely available and interested buyers should contact authorized Jaeger-LeCoultre dealers for information. The price of the watch is not publicly disclosed.
