W&W 2020: Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Geographic
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s ‘Master Control’ collection has introduced several newly designed 40mm editions, featuring open sapphire crystal casebacks and sunray brushed silver-white dials. The watches are now driven by updated calibres integrating various energy-saving enhancements.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Geographic is a travel watch featuring a second timezone paired with a day/night indicator. Further, there is a date and power reserve indication. A new Master Control Geographic is housed in a stainless-steel case (Ref. Q4128420). The model is worn on a tan calf leather strap.
With the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Geographic, two Dauphine hands made of case material tell the time. The central seconds hand is blue, which is a hallmark feature of the updated collection. The date is displayed via a subdial between 2 and 3 o’clock, while the power reserve indicator is located at 10 o’clock. Notably, the sub dial displays hours and minutes of a second timezone, as well as providing a 24-hour day and night indicator.
The window at the bottom of the dial shows a corresponding city for every timezone. That way, the wearer can set the second timezone without having to calculate the difference between reference time and local time.
Powered by the latest generation in-house Calibre 939, the new Master Control Geographic now boasts a 70-hour power reserve. Sapphire crystal protects the silver dial on the front and reveals the decorated calibre on the back. In addition, the watch is waterproof to 50m.
The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Geographic is priced at 12,500 euros for the stainless-steel (Ref. Q4128420) version.
