Chopard has released a new edition of the Chopard L.U.C Perpetual Twin, first introduced in 2016 to mark the 20th anniversary of the manufacture. The 43 mm watch with a perpetual calendar is now available not only in stainless steel, but also in an 18-carat rose gold case. The new stainless steel edition has a deep blue dial, while the version with a rose gold case has a grey dial. The watch is presented on a blue or brown alligator leather strap with a pin buckle.
The sunray dial displays the time with applied indices, plus rhodium-plated or gold-plated dauphine hands for hours and minutes. The perpetual calendar consists of an enlarged date window at 12 o’clock and subdials for the day of the week, month, as well as a leap year indicator. Additionally, small seconds are shown at 6 o’clock. Finally, the dial is protected by sapphire crystal.
Powering the Chopard L.U.C Perpetual Twin is the automatic L.U.C 96.22-L calibre. The movement measures a mere 6 mm in height. The 22-carat gold micro-rotor is placed at the same level as the bridges. Meanwhile, the double barrel provides a 65-hour power reserve. The decorated movement can be observed through the sapphire caseback. Furthermore, the watch with perpetual calendar has been COSC-certified as a chronometer – a rarity in the current market.
As mentioned, two versions of the Chopard L.U.C Perpetual Twin are available. The stainless-steel version (Ref. 168561-3003) costs 24,600 euros, while the rose-gold version (Ref. 161976-5003) costs 49,600 euros. Finally, both watches are water-resistant to 30 m.
