When it comes to bold and extravagant timepieces, LVMH brand Hublot is undeniably a master of its craft. Yet the maison is equally adept at embracing subtlety, dressing itself in the elegantly modern guise of the Classic Fusion collection.
Back in 1980, the very first Hublot watch set the stage for what is now an exclusive line that, in 2022, ignited a new passion for collecting with the launch of the Big Bang Unico Essential Grey. The concept is simple yet enticing: a single model, a single colour, available exclusively online once a year via the brand’s own e-commerce platform. Three instalments of the monochrome Essential series have already taken place, and some fortunate enthusiasts have managed to acquire every edition from each respective year. Following the Big Bang Unico Essential Grey came the Spirit of Big Bang Essential Grey, and, last year, the Classic Fusion Essential Grey in two sizes.
Are you one of the collectors of Hublot’s Essential Grey models? Then you might want to brace yourself!
The New Classic Fusion Essential in Titanium, Available in Two Sizes
Because the Essential Grey chapter has now drawn to a close. Is this the end of the collection journey? Thankfully, it is not! Grey is now a thing of the past. From this year onwards, it’s all about capturing the Essential Taupe. The story begins with two Classic Fusion models.
What Unites Them
Both versions are, of course, adorned with the signature elements of the Classic Fusion line: the bezel with six functional H-shaped screws, three central hands, a discreet date window, and an integrated strap.
Distinctive features of this exclusive edition include a case and bezel crafted from polished and satin-finished titanium, a sunray-brushed taupe-coloured dial, and a matching rubber/textile strap – the very essence of monochromatic harmony.
What Sets Them Apart
This tone-on-tone aesthetic encases an automatic movement – and here is where the differences begin. Hublot has equipped each of the water-resistant cases (to five bar) with a movement tailored to its size. The 45-millimetre version houses the HUB1112 calibre, while the 42-millimetre model is powered by the HUB1110.
Both offer a power reserve of 48 hours, as well as hours, minutes, central seconds and a date display at three o’clock. The foundation for both is the Sellita SW300-1, which is subsequently refined and finished by Hublot.
Price & Availability of the Hublot Classic Fusion Essential Taupe
