The latest novelties from watch manufacture Bell & Ross have been rather elaborate. Now, they go back to basics for what a watch is originally made for – telling us the time. And to add some more comfort on that function, Bell & Ross has put focus on its readability, not only during daylight, but also in the pitch dark.
Bell & Ross watches are inspired by battleplane-cockpits
First of all it is important to understand that Bell & Ross mainly stands for instrument inspired watches. They have always taken their inspiration from plane cockpit watches and are famous for their square-shaped military style watchcases. For this the brand has continuously studied military equipment: First World War pocket watches, Second World War flight instruments with special functions and 1960s instrument panels.
The Superluminova C3 shines bright for a clear readability during the dark
At Baselworld 2018, Bell & Ross introduces the BR 03-92 Nightlum. The hands, numerals and indices are coated in Superluminova C3, which makes it almost impossible, not to be able to read the time. It even shines bright in the pitch dark. The hands, numerals and indices support the readability as they are made extra large and are reminiscent of the graphics traditionally used by Bell & Ross. We already had a sneak preview of the watch and are convinced by its very clear readability.
Military-Look – the calfskin strap in grey-green
Combat pilots face the darkness during night, but also the sun impact during day. Therefore the sapphire glass is anti-reflecting – another feature to guarantee a clear readability at any daytime. Bell & Ross enthusiasts will love its simplicity. The case is made of black matte ceramic, simple but functional and precious. We shall not forget that it still is a luxury watch. To round this look up the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Nightlum is equipped with a grey-green calfskin strap.
