Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Fratello Limited Edition
Swiss watchmaker Oris, from Hölstein, has teamed up with online platform and #SpeedyTuesday founder Fratello to launch their first limited edition of a Big Crown Bronze Pointer Date model.
Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Bronze Fratello Limited Edition
The Big Crown Pointer Date is a true classic timepiece from Oris and was first presented in 1938. The watch stands out due to its oversized crown and pointer date hand. As this implies, the watch was mainly designed for pilots, as it ensured easy adjustments even while wearing gloves.
An Oxblood dial in a bronze case
On the occasion of the Big Crown Pointer Date‘s 80th anniversary in 2018, Oris launched a bronze model with a green dial for the first time. In 2019, it was extended by a dial in bronze and in the same year, a steel version with a red ‘Oxblood’ dial also appeared. Oris and Fratello have now merged Bronze and Oxblood together in this limited edition of only 300 pieces.
The new Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Bronze Fratello Limited Edition has a 40 mm bronze case with a fluted bezel, brushed surfaces, a double-domed sapphire crystal and the typical oversized crown. New features include: the railroad minute track, the date numbers, and the Oris logo with lettering above 6 o’clock, which are now executed in a gold tone to match the bronze case. And, of course, the other novelty is that the Oxblood red dial is now housed in a bronze case.
Worn on a taupe leather or grey-blue NATO strap
The Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Bronze Fratello Limited Edition runs with the reliable Oris calibre 754 (Sellita SW-200 base) with a power reserve of 38 hours and a pointer date from the dial’s centre. It is worn on a taupe leather strap and comes with an additional NATO strap in grey-blue with a bronze buckle. 250 pieces are available via the Fratello Shop and the remaining 50 pieces can be purchased in Oris boutiques. Price: 1,950 euros.
