Founded in 1878 by Gerhard D. Wempe in Elsfleth, the German family business has evolved from a small watch workshop into one of the world’s leading jewellers and watch retailers. With over 30 locations worldwide, Wempe continues to stand for craftsmanship, expert consultation and close ties to haute horlogerie. In addition to retailing prestigious brands such as Cartier, Rolex, Breitling, IWC Schaffhausen, Patek Philippe and Jaeger-LeCoultre, the company has produced its own watches since 2006 at its manufacture in Glashütte. Collections developed there – such as the elegant Chronometerwerke line and the sportier Zeitmeister collection – combine German engineering with classical design and certified precision. The stainless-steel Iron Walker collection features an integrated bracelet, a Swiss movement finished in Glashütte and chronometer certification to ISO 3159. All watches are produced following the établissage principle, with each step from development to quality control carefully supervised. Comprehensive in-house servicing, restoration and personalisation complete the offering, giving Wempe a distinctive position within the international watch world.
