W&W 2020: Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronograph Calendar
Watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre has revamped its ‘Master Control’ collection, launching a range of 40 mm timepieces featuring open casebacks. The watches are now driven by updated calibres that integrate various energy-saving enhancements.
One of the new iterations is the Master Control Chronograph Calendar, combining a complete calendar with a chronograph – a first for Jaeger-LeCoultre. It is housed in a 40 mm case made of stainless-steel (Ref. Q4138420). The model is worn on a nappa leather strap.
The silver-white sunray brushed dial displays a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, running seconds at 9 o’clock, and features a blue central chronograph seconds hand. The day and month windows are placed at the top of the dial below the brand’s logo, with the moon-phase and date indicator placed together at 6 o’clock. The dial also exhibits a pulsometric scale around the edge.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronograph Calendar features a movement that marks a first for Jaeger-LeCoultre, as it combines a chronograph with a triple calendar display. The Calibre 759 features a column-wheel chronograph with a vertical clutch that is operated by rectangular pushers. In addition, it offers 65-hour power reserve thanks to energy-saving enhancements. Notably, sapphire crystal on the back reveals the workings of the calibre.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronograph Calendar is water-resistant to 50m. This stainless-steel (Ref. Q4138420) version is priced at 14,900 euros.
