With the Norqain Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life ‘Sprinkles’, the brand presents the second colourful execution of its popular Freedom Chrono just in time for the start of summer, following last year’s first ‘Enjoy Life’ model. With two dial variants in light blue called “Blue Raspberry” and light pink called “Strawberry”, Norqain once again aims to bring a sense of summer to the wrist in combination with a chronograph function.

What lies behind the ‘Enjoy Life’ collection

But what is behind this collection, and what intention is Norqain founder and CEO Ben Küffer pursuing with it? ‘With the Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life “Sprinkles”, we simply want to have fun. It is the little things that sweeten life,’ says Ben Küffer, describing the second ‘Enjoy Life’ edition named ‘Sprinkles’, which follows last year’s version with a three-colour dial in blue, pink and pistachio, as well as an ice-cream date display.

At the same time, the watches in the ‘Enjoy Life’ collection reveal something about Norqain’s own self-image, as Ben Küffer already explained at the launch of the first ‘Enjoy Life’ model in 2025: ‘I am often asked what the purpose of Norqain is. For me, the answer is very simple: we are here to spread positive energy and joy, and to create watches that make people feel good. Every Norqain timepiece is designed with precisely this ambition – and the Freedom 60 Chrono 40mm “Enjoy Life” Special Edition expresses that perfectly.’

To embody this intention, the second special edition in the Enjoy Life collection is perhaps the clearest expression of this positive attitude from a brand that does not take itself too seriously, drawing inspiration from the colours and sprinkles of soft-serve ice cream. At the same time, Norqain demonstrates that Swiss watchmaking, often perceived as traditional or even conservative, can combine high-quality execution with a playful and colourful design without compromising its customary quality.

Positive emotions, then, are what drive Ben Küffer to create these colourful watches, as he emphasises: ‘The success of last year’s “Enjoy Life” concept made me incredibly proud. Seeing how emotionally people responded to it was something very special.’ With the Norqain Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life ‘Sprinkles’, which we will now examine in detail, a different emotion may be evoked in every wearer: whether memories of childhood with an ice cream in hand, the longing for a beach holiday, or simply that brief moment of joy when glancing at one’s own wrist.

The dial of the Norqain Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life ‘Sprinkles’ – colourful by day, luminous by night

To embody a sense of joie de vivre and summer, Norqain once again opts for a deliberately colourful design, as it did with the first ‘Enjoy Life’ special edition. The two dial variants in light blue (“Blue Raspberry”) and light pink (“Strawberry”) are decorated with pink, green, blue and yellow sprinkles, inevitably recalling the topping on a soft-serve ice cream. Both versions of the special edition feature a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour chronograph counter at 6 o’clock and a small seconds display at 9 o’clock, all executed in white with black numerals.

Two further key elements can be found on the dial: diamond-cut and rhodium-plated indices, as well as diamond-cut and rhodium-plated hour and minute hands. The dial components and decorative elements also reveal a further effect in the dark: the white Super-LumiNova coating on the indices and hands glows green, while the sprinkles are likewise treated with a luminous coating and glow blue. This not only ensures that the watch remains legible in the dark, but also provides the wearer with an unexpected visual detail.

The tachymeter scale framing the inner section of the dial is a common feature on watches with a chronograph complication and is used to measure units per hour, such as the average speed of a car. The dial of the special edition is completed by a date window at 4:30, which contains a charming detail: on the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th day of each month, the numeral is playfully replaced by an illustration of a soft-serve ice cream, with sprinkles in the same colour as those on the dial. For added chromatic harmony, the background of the date disc is executed in the same shade as the respective dial itself, allowing it to blend almost seamlessly into the overall design.

The case of the Norqain Freedom Chrono ‘Enjoy Life Sprinkles’ – compact construction with a playful caseback

Originally available only in a 43 mm case variant, Norqain gave its popular Freedom Chrono a new case with a reduced diameter of 40 mm in 2022. The Norqain Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life ‘Sprinkles’ is likewise housed in this more compact 40 mm stainless-steel case, which has a height of 14.90 mm and is fitted with a box-type sapphire crystal. The lug-to-lug length measures 49.20 mm, while the lug width of the case is 20 mm.

Turning the Norqain Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life ‘Sprinkles’ over reveals the caseback, which is fitted with scratch-resistant, flat sapphire crystal. As already seen on the first ‘Enjoy Life’ special edition, the defining feature of the sapphire crystal caseback is the special ‘Ice Cream Edition’ print, including the ‘Enjoy Life’ lettering, intended to express the summery character of the watch.

With water resistance to 100 metres, the colourful special edition is well equipped for numerous water-based activities and beach holidays. The case is completed by the brand’s characteristic ‘Norqain Plate’ on the side of the case, which buyers can personalise with an individual engraving, as well as a screw-down stainless-steel crown bearing the Norqain logo.

The movement of the special edition relies on proven mechanics

The new Norqain Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life ‘Sprinkles’ special edition is powered by the Norqain calibre N19, which is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. This movement is an automatic Swiss chronograph calibre with a power reserve of around 62 hours and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). The movement is wound by a personalised winding rotor bearing the Norqain logo.

The Norqain calibre N19 is based on the Sellita SW510, which in turn builds on the proven Valjoux 7750 – a classic among chronograph calibres. Sellita has long produced this calibre in collaboration with ETA, one of Switzerland’s best-known movement manufacturers.

The strap and bracelet options for the Norqain Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life ‘Sprinkles’

The second ‘Enjoy Life’ special edition is available with a choice of two options: a stainless-steel bracelet with polished links and satin-finished centre links, or a white rubber strap that picks up on another distinctive feature of the watch. The rubber strap is also decorated with colourful sprinkles that begin to glow blue in the dark, thereby consistently extending the design concept of the dial.

Price and availability of the Norqain Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life ‘Sprinkles’

Both dial variants of the Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life ‘Sprinkles’ special edition are priced identically: 5,100 euros on the stainless-steel bracelet, 4,990 euros on the white rubber strap and 5,150 euros on the white rubber strap with folding clasp.

The Norqain Freedom Chrono Enjoy Life ‘Sprinkles’ special edition is not limited, but according to Norqain, it will remain in the collection only until the right moment comes to discontinue it or replace it with a new edition. It therefore follows the natural evolution of the collection: the first ‘Enjoy Life’ special edition of the Freedom 60 Chrono 40 mm has since made way for something new, turning each edition into a moment in time within the collection.
