TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye: A Tribute to Motorsport History
TAG Heuer and Porsche have unveiled a new watch that pays homage to their shared motorsport history. The Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye is inspired by the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally, where the Porsche 911 made its competitive debut. This limited-edition timepiece comes in two versions: one in steel, limited to 911 pieces, and one in 18K gold, limited to 11 pieces.
Case
The case of the Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye measures 42 mm in diameter and is available in two materials: stainless steel and 18K 3N yellow gold. The steel version features a fine-brushed, polished finish. Both cases have a bezel-free design, enhancing the dial’s visibility. The domed sapphire crystal on the front and back with double anti-reflective treatment provides an unobstructed view of the dial and movement. The water resistance is rated at 100 meters, making it suitable for recreational water activities.
Dial
The dial of the Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye is a striking black with a shimmery finish, reminiscent of the Heuer Master Time stopwatches from the 1965 rally. The strong contrast between the black dial and beige markings enhances legibility, a crucial factor in racing. The red lines on the flange represent the 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 8.4 seconds achieved by the Porsche 911 “147” in the rally. There are three subdials: at 3 o’clock, a minute counter with a red hand; at 6 o’clock, small seconds with a red hand; and at 9 o’clock, an hour counter with a red hand. The hour and minute hands are rhodium-plated with beige Super-LumiNova, ensuring visibility in low-light conditions. The central hand is also rhodium-plated and polished. The dial features the TAG Heuer logo, along with the inscriptions “CARRERA”, “CHRONOSPRINT”, and “PORSCHE”.
Movement
At the heart of the Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye is the in-house Calibre TH20-08. This automatic movement powers hours, minutes, seconds, date, and the chronograph. It has a power reserve of 80 hours. The chronograph module is unique to the Porsche partnership, with two snail-shaped wheels that allow the central seconds hand to complete the first 15 seconds of each minute at an accelerated pace before completing the minute perfectly. This feature is a nod to the watch’s racing heritage. The movement also includes a special rotor shaped like a Porsche steering wheel, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. The caseback of the steel version is engraved with “LIMITED XXX/911”, while the gold version has the inscription “LIMITED XX/11”.
Strap
The Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye comes with different strap options depending on the case material. The steel version includes a classic H-shaped bracelet and an additional black perforated leather strap with beige stitching. The bracelet features a folding clasp with double safety push-buttons and the TAG Heuer shield. The gold version is paired with a black perforated leather strap with beige stitching and an additional light brown perforated calfskin strap with beige stitching. These straps also come with a pin buckle in 18K 3N yellow gold bearing the TAG Heuer shield.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye will be available starting January 2025. The steel version is limited to 911 pieces and is priced at 10,000 CHF.
