Autumn is slowly beginning to reveal its colours, and with the new season comes a fresh palette for our wardrobes. Purple has been chosen as the trend colour for autumn on the catwalks and the watchmaking world is also embracing the shade. For the first time, the Wild One Skeleton 42 mm is now available in purple, limited to 400 pieces.
The Wild One Skeleton 42mm Purple features a 25-part case construction made from Norteq carbon fibre. This is a composite of carbon fibres and a polymer matrix containing 60 per cent bio-based material. The lightweight material is 6.25 times lighter than steel and 3.5 times lighter than titanium, while also being anti-magnetic and corrosion-resistant. A purple rubber middle section acts as a shock absorber, increasing impact resistance to 5000 g – making the watch perfectly suited to outdoor pursuits.
The open, black skeletonised dial reveals the automatic calibre NB08S within. Purple print details provide colour highlights that blend harmoniously into the overall design. The colour scheme continues with light violet X1 Super-LumiNova, applied to the diamond-cut, faceted and rhodium-plated indices as well as the hour and minute hands, which taper to a fine point. This ensures improved legibility in low-light conditions. The flat seconds hand, in a diamond-cut finish, features a white X1 Super-LumiNova core surrounded by a light purple border.
At the heart of the Wild One Skeleton 42mm Purple beats the NB08S mechanical automatic movement, based on a Sellita calibre. The skeletonised movement has been refined by Norqain, fitted with 26 jewels and a customised oscillating weight bearing the Norqain logo. Certified as a chronometer (COSC), it guarantees excellent precision. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), it provides reliable timekeeping, while its 41-hour power reserve ensures it runs smoothly through everyday use. The sapphire crystal caseback offers an unobstructed view of the movement, with rhodium-coated bridges and wheels finished to a fine standard.
The violet rubber strap echoes the colour of the case’s middle section and, combined with the lightweight construction, ensures excellent wearing comfort. Norqain offers two clasp options: a classic pin buckle in black Norteq, or a DLC-coated titanium folding clasp with a black Norteq plate.
The 400 limited-edition pieces of the Wild One Skeleton 42mm Purple will be available from 1 October 2025 via the Norqain website, the brand’s flagship boutiques in Zermatt, Singapore and Zurich, as well as through its global network of authorised retailers. The retail price is 5,500 euros, and each watch comes with a two-year warranty.
