On the watch fair SIHH 2019 the Swiss luxury watch brand Vacheron Constantin added a new model to its ‘Overseas collection’. This new model is very special due to the fact it is the first one to be operated by a self-winding tourbillon movement.
The case of the new model Overseas Tourbillon Ref. 6000V/110A-B544 is made of stainless steel und has a strong but simple look through the dynamic design of its lines. Due to the concept of interchangeable straps the new watch of the collection can be combined individually, like former models of the ‘Overseas collection’. Characteristic to this model are especially its six-sided bezel and the emblematic, blue dial.

The openworked carriage is shaped like the Manufacture’s Maltese Cross emblem and contains the ultra-thin Calibre 2160, which was constructed out of 188 individual parts and firstly presented in 2018. The peripheral rotor of the just 5.65 mm thick caliber is made of 22K gold. Through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback the mechanism beating at a frequency of 2.5 Hz is visible. The bar of the tourbillon carriage is entirely hand-bevelled, a task requiring up to 12 hours. The new Overseas Tourbillon features central hours and minutes. A tourbillon indicates the seconds indication at 6 o’clock. For increased readabilty in all lighting conditions the hands and hour indices on the sunburst, blue lacquered dial are filled with Super-LumiNova.

The included straps can be interchanged without any tools. This way the owner can decide individually by his mood or outfit whether he wants to wear a steel strap or rather a blue leather or rubber strap.
