Breitling Chronomat: Green Dial, Titanium Version, And Rubber Straps
Along with the launch of the Chronomat Giannis Antetokounmpo, Breitling has also enhanced the Chronomat collection with new designs. The new models are centred around the Chronomat B01 42, which is available in various materials and colour variants. A highlight is the new Rouleaux-inspired rubber strap, introduced for the first time in the collection. This addition promises not only a fresh aesthetic but also improved wearing comfort and water resistance. Moreover, Breitling is introducing two models in titanium, which, despite their lightness, retain the characteristic robustness of the line and are also available as a Super Chronomat in a 44 mm size.
Case
The new Chronomat B01 42 comes in a range of materials, including stainless steel, two-tone, 18-carat red gold, and titanium. The case measures 42 mm in diameter and has a thickness of 15.10 mm, ensuring an impressive presence on the wrist. The classic features of the Chronomat, such as the iconic onion crown and the unidirectional rotating bezel with riders, are still present, emphasising the watch’s connection to its aeronautical roots. The cambered sapphire crystal is anti-reflective on both sides, while the sapphire case back allows a view of the movement. Water resistance is up to 20 bar (200 metres), making the Chronomat a reliable companion for water sports activities.
Dial
Three of the watches feature dials in the brand new green colour variant, which Breitling pairs with black chronograph counters. The two titanium models instead have a dial in anthracite. In any case, a black tachymeter scale winds around the dial. A date window is integrated into the hour counter at 6 o’clock. The has applied Super-LumiNova-coated indices and hands, ensuring good legibility even in low light conditions.
Movement
Inside the new Chronomat models beats the Breitling B01, a mechanical movement known for its precision and reliability. The chronograph uses a vertical clutch and switches via a column wheel. The movement also features automatic winding with a power reserve of 70 hours and a COSC certificate.
Strap
A special feature of the new Chronomat B01 42 is the Rouleaux-inspired rubber strap, available in various colours including green and black. It offers not only high wearing comfort but also water resistance, which is advantageous for sporting activities. Alternatively, customers can choose the classic Rouleaux bracelet in stainless steel or 18-carat red gold, which has a folding clasp for additional comfort. For titanium enthusiasts, there is a matching Rouleaux bracelet made of this lightweight metal, which provides a pleasant tactile feel.
Price & Availability
The new models of the Chronomat B01 42 are already available and offer a variety of options in terms of material and colour. Prices vary depending on the version and start at 8,500 euros for the stainless steel versions. The 18-carat red gold (€22,500) and titanium (€11,900) variants are more expensive.
