Tudor Black Bay Chrono ‘Blue’: New Boutique Edition With Blue Dial
The new Tudor Black Bay Chrono is now available as a boutique version with a dial in ‘Tudor Blue’. The watch combines the traditions of diving and motorsport watches in a striking, sporty chronograph. The model stands out with its domed, blue dial with a satin-finished sunburst surface and contrasting silver-coloured totalisers. The chronograph is equipped with the MT5813 manufacture movement, which is certified by the Swiss testing institute Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC).
Case
The case of the Tudor Black Bay Chrono ‘Blue’ is made of satin-finished and polished 316L stainless steel and has a diameter of 41 mm. The fixed bezel is of blue anodised aluminium and features a tachymeter scale. The screw-down winding crown in 316L stainless steel bears the Tudor Rose in relief and is flanked by screw-down pushers at the 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock positions. The domed sapphire crystal protects the dial and ensures water resistance to a depth of 200 metres.
Dial
The domed dial of the Tudor Black Bay Chrono ‘Blue’ is in a satin-finished ‘Tudor Blue’ and features a sunburst finish. The contrasting round totalisers in silver offer excellent legibility. The characteristic ‘Snowflake’ hands, which were first introduced on Tudor diving watches in 1969, are coated with Super-LumiNova. The dial features a date display at the 6 o’clock position and a 45-minute totaliser at the 3 o’clock position.
Movement
The Tudor Black Bay Chrono ‘Blue’ is equipped with the manufacture chronograph calibre MT5813. The automatic movement is based on Breitling’s B01, which is known for its reliability. However, Tudor uses a tungsten rotor with sandblasted details. The bridges and the main plate are designed with alternating sandblasted, polished surfaces and laser decorations. The movement offers a power reserve of around 70 hours and is fitted with an amagnetic silicon balance spring. The integrated chronograph features both a column wheel and a vertical clutch. The movement has been officially certified by the Swiss testing institute Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC).
Bracelet
The five-row bracelet is made of 316L stainless steel and features the ‘T-fit’ clasp with quick-adjustment system. This practical system enables direct adjustment of the bracelet over a length of 8 mm without additional tools. The clasp is fitted with ceramic ball bearings, which ensure smooth and secure fastening and offer a pleasant feel.
