OMEGA

Biel/Bienne, Switzerland

In 1848, Louis Brandt founded Omega in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Today, Omega is one of the world's most renowned and influential watch manufacturers. Following the development of the groundbreaking ‘Omega’ calibre in 1894, the brand has carried its current name. The brand is closely associated with historic milestones, including its role as the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932, the creation of the first watch to be worn on the Moon with the Speedmaster Professional ‘Moonwatch’ in 1969, and its long-standing partnership with the James Bond film franchise. Through these achievements, the brand has shaped both sporting history and popular culture. Omega combines technical precision, innovation, and design. The Seamaster is a renowned line of professional dive watches, the legendary Speedmaster is a highly precise chronograph, the Constellation is recognised for its iconic design and star symbolism, and the De Ville collection embodies elegant, classically modern timepieces. These collections are complemented by innovative materials and calibres manufactured in-house that combine everyday reliability, chronometric accuracy, and aesthetic clarity, establishing Omega as a leading name in mechanical watchmaking. In cooperation with the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), Omega developed its own certification, open to all brands producing anti-magnetic watches resistant to at least 15,000 gauss. Since 2015, timepieces have undergone an eight-step testing programme assessing precision and functionality in real-life conditions. After successfully completing the 25-day testing process, they receive the ‘Master Chronometer’ certification.
