Jaeger-LeCoultre is introducing two new Memovox models to its Master Control collection, one of which is the Master Control Memovox Timer (The other one is the Master Control Memovox). Although contemporary in style, the watch takes its inspiration from the 1950s Memovox models. Additionally, the timepiece’s movement incorporates not only an alarm-setting mechanism, but also a timer function.
Firstly, the Master Control Memovox Timer is housed in the new 40 mm Master Control case with a sloping bezel and curved lugs – as is its sibling. Additionally, the stainless-steel case uses a mix of polished and satin-brushed finishes.
Secondly, the Master Control Memovox Timer‘s blue sunray dial offers two options for using the alarm. Primarily, the wearer can set the actual time at which they wish the alarm to sound by moving the Memovox’s triangular indicator. Alternatively, a timer function is integrated with a red-tipped hand on the inner ring that displays the elapsed hours left until the alarm should sound. Meanwhile, the hour markers and hands are legible 24/7 thanks to the inclusion of Super-LumiNova, and a date window lies at 3 o’clock.
Thirdly, powering the Master Control Memovox Timer is Jaeger-LeCoultre’s mechanical calibre 956. The updated self-winding movement has a power reserve of 45 hours. Furthermore, the model – along with its sibling – marks the first time that a Memovox watch has featured an open caseback. Therefore, the user can observe the alarm’s hammer at work, as it strikes the gong multiple times at a high speed. To this end, the red gold rotor has been skeletonized.
Finally, the Master Control Memovox Timer is presented on a blue leather strap and is water-resistant to 50 m. It is a limited edition of 250 pieces and costs 16,100 euros.
