The Zenith Chronomaster Original E-Commerce: Only Available in the Online Shop
Earlier this summer, Zenith unveiled this reinterpretation of the iconic A386 from 1969. Now follows a variant that is exclusively available in the brand’s online shop. Appropriately, it is called the Chronomaster Original E-Commerce and has a slightly different dial. What remains, however, are the three coloured counters and the modern El Primero 3600 calibre inside.
The case of the Chronomaster Original E-Commerce remains faithful to the original
The case of the Zenith Chronomaster Original measures 38 mm in diameter and has the same proportions as the A386. The stainless steel case is also complemented by pump-style pushers and faceted lugs. Meanwhile, a domed box sapphire crystal protects the dial. Unlike the Zenith A386, the Chronomaster Original has an exhibition case back that reveals the mechanics. Last but not least, the watch has a water resistance of 50 metres.
The dial with the three coloured counters
In addition to the three typical counters, the white lacquered dial of the Chronomaster Original E-Commerce has an inner ring that is divided into three sections. This picks up on the same grey and blue tones and thus continues the colour scheme. In this way, for the first time, another part of the dial has been given the three colours. In addition to the small seconds at 9 o’clock and the totalisers at 3 o’clock and 6 o’clock, the watchmakers also placed a date window at 4:30 o’clock.
The calibre El Primero 3600
The El Primero 3600 calibre in the Chronomaster Original E-Commerce is a derivative of the original. It operates at a high frequency of 5 hertz, which makes it possible to measure tenths of a second. The chronograph has a column wheel and also offers automatic winding. The maximum power reserve here is 60 hours. On the back, the open rotor, which showcases the five-pointed Zenith star, and the blued column wheel are particularly striking.
Price & Availability of the Chronomaster Original E-Commerce
The Zenith Chronomaster Original E-Commerce appears on a grey calfskin strap that matches the central counter. It also has coloured loop stitches that pick up on the adjacent counters. Last but not least, the strap secures via a stainless steel triple-folding clasp. The watch is available exclusively in the Zenith online boutique. It comes in a special presentation box reminiscent of a coffee-table book. The price is 8,300 euros.
