Independent watchmaker Frederique Constant has revived its Highlife collection from 20 years ago with the introduction of Frederique Constant Highlife Automatic COSC. It is a certified chronometer thanks to its certification from the Swiss Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC). It offers the same bracelet changing system as the other two innovations, the Highlife Perpetual Calendar Manufacture and the Highlife Heart Beat.
The Frederique Constant Highlife Automatic COSC comes in four different versions. This includes steel bracelet with blue dial; black leather strap with white dial; bi-colour; or finally, a model with a brown leather strap and full rose-gold plating. Nevertheless, all watches are housed in the same 41 mm polished stainless steel case.
The guilloché globe is emblazoned on the dial and is the hallmark of the new Highlife collection. It represents the company’s values, such as environmental protection and the desire for a sustainable, responsible life. The dial is protected by sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, so that the time can always be read easily. To that end, the applied indices and the hour and minute hands use luminous material that qualify the watch to be worn at night.
All models of the new Highlife collection integrate a system for quick changing of the bracelets. This allows the wearer to change the bracelet quickly and easily without tools. All that is needed is to press the two pushers at the end of the bracelet and slide the bracelet out of the case. Thus, the wearer to change between leather, steel and rubber in a matter of seconds.
Inside the Frederique Constant Highlife Automatic COSC is the self-winding calibre FC-310. It offers a power reserve of 38 hours and beats at a frequency of 4 Hz. The movement has been awarded the COSC chronometer certificate and can be viewed through the sapphire crystal case back.
The Frederique Constant Highlife Automatic COSC is water-resistant up to 50 m. An additional rubber strap is included in the delivery. Furthermore, a set consisting of a brown, a blue and a black Crococalf suede strap can be purchased. The price for the version with stainless steel bracelet is 1,795 euros. The model with white dial and black leather strap costs 1,695 euros and the bi-colour and rose gold versions both cost 1,995 euros.
