The German-Swiss manufacturer Armin Strom presents a variant of the Pure Resonance. The new model, the Armin Strom Pure Resonance Sky Blue, has a guilloché, sky-blue dial made by Kari Voutilainen. As a resonance watch, this model also makes use of this phenomenon in order to improve the accuracy. The spectacle of two synchronously beating balances can be viewed on the front. Last but not least, the watch is housed in a gold case and is also limited to only 3 pieces.
The Pure Resonance Sky Blue appears in a gold case
The Pure Resonance Sky Blue is housed in a 42 mm case made of white gold. With a case height of 13 mm, it is also quite slender – considering the mechanics inside. The case has short lugs and a reduced crown. Another striking feature is the practically non-existent bezel. Nevertheless, at 6 o’clock there is the typical “lip” of the brand, which brings space for engravings. Last but not least, the sapphire crystal case back presents the back of the movement. In addition, the Armin Strom Pure Resonance is water-resistant to 50 metres.
Guilloché dial by Kari Voutilainen
The front of the Armin Strom Pure Resonance Sky Blue is characterised by the unobstructed view of the movement. Above all, the two regulators at 8 o’clock and 10 o’clock are clearly visible. Nevertheless, Armin Strom commissions the Finnish watchmaker Kari Voutilainen to apply a Guilloché finish to the sky blue dial. This dial bears Roman numerals and a classic minute track. Above it, white steel hands tell the time. There is also a sub-dial at 7 o’clock with a baton hand indicating the seconds.
The calibre ARF16 inside the Pure Resonance Sky Blue
The calibre ARF16 inside the Pure Resonance Sky Blue has two independent regulating systems connected by a coupling spring. Due to the resonance phenomenon, the rates of the two balances converge, which has a stabilising effect on timekeeping. The watch has two barrels, which together provide a power reserve of 48 hours. The winding is done by hand. Last but not least, the Manufacture decorates the movement with Geneva stripes on both sides.
The watch comes on a black strap made of alligator leather that secures with a stainless steel folding clasp. The Armin Strom Pure Resonance Sky Blue is limited to 3 pieces and costs 73,000 euros.
With the Manero Minute Repeater Symphony, Carl F. Bucher is presenting an extraordinary minute repeater.
