Located at Hamburg’s most exclusive shopping street
The new AP House in the Hanseatic city is located on Hamburg’s most exclusive shopping street, Neuer Wall, in a historic building dating back to the 19th century. On the other side, the balcony with its large terrace overlooks the Binnenalster Fleet and the Rathausmarkt (Hamburg’s town hall). The 340-square-metre space covers the entire second floor of the building.
At the centre of the new AP House is a generously designed main room with its own bar, several lounge areas with furniture by Vitra and Minotti, and an impressive ‘watch wall’ with display cases. At the rear of the AP House, with a view of Hamburg’s famed Neuer Wall, the horology house has created a retreat for intimate conversations, presentations or events. The idea is that visitors can relax, connect or disconnect, depending on their mood.
For the interior design, AP commissioned interior and industrial designer Kosta Stathakis from Blended Design, whose roots lie in Switzerland and Greece. The designer used the white brick elements typical of Hamburg and combined them with oak herringbone parquet flooring and satin copper accents.
Due to the manufacture’s special penchant for contemporary art and its commitment to support artists, a temporary exhibition, with works on loan from the Berlin gallery ChertLüdde, will be on display at AP House Hamburg. It is closely linked to the internal art programme ‘Audemars Piguet Contemporary’.
Burhan Ademi, Audemars Piguet Country Manager Germany, commented on the opening: “The new AP House in the heart of Hamburg offers visitors a unique brand experience with an incomparable view of Hamburg’s Town Hall and the Inner Alster from our terrace. Our unique concept has been successfully established in Munich in recent years, and has been well received by local and international customers alike. With an innovative design that fully reflects our DNA and the Hamburg location, we have created a place of well-being, where visitors can immerse themselves in the world of Audemars Piguet.”
The new AP House is open from Monday to Friday from 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., and can be found at Neuer Wall 11, 2nd floor.
